August is a busy month here at Outreach. While churches are getting ready for Back To Church Sunday, Faith in Action, To Save a Life Week and other Fall events, the product team is finalizing the new Winter/Christmas designs and starting to plan for 2011.
This time of year, I never know what month it is or if I should be hot or cold. But, this is what makes my job so much fun – exciting projects and new things that help build God’s kingdom!
So, here are the things that are keeping me busy these days –I hope they help your church and bring you more visitors in the months ahead:
New Wider Outreach.com – check out our website, it just grew! This is the first step in many new improvements that will make shopping and getting information on our website easier and better. While you are on Outreach.com sign up for a MyOutreach account – it has helpful tools and allows you to track your packages and see your order history.
Our first Small Group mailer – This thin mailer should arrive in mailboxes mid-August and it is a concise place to see all the great resources we offer for launching small groups in your church. Many of the products have new lower prices and can be combined with a Campaign kit so Sunday services coordinate with mid-week lessons.
To Save A Life keeps saving lives – I have been thinking about this movie and working on it for over two years in one capacity or another and even on the days when I am tired of seeing the movie poster (which is hanging on my cubicle wall) I am inspired and proud when I read the stories of teens who had their lives saved (many times eternally) after being influenced by this movie. I look forward to the reports that will come in after To Save A Life Week – if you are participating please add your movie event information to the map so teens in your community can see the film!
Back to Church Sunday – September 12 could be a very big day in churches across America as people ask their friends and family members to come back to church. If you haven’t check out the resources and invitation tools available for this growing movement – don’t wait! It’s going to be exciting to see how God moves in people’s lives with just a simple invitation!
Autumn – After such a brutally hot summer (everywhere but California) I am sure that I am not the only one who looks forward to autumn months. I have been looking at images of fallen leaves and ripe wheat fields for months on the new Bulletin shells and postcards that you could use in your church. The designs are gorgeous and should be very eye-catching in a mailbox or handed to a visitor.
There are so many more things coming for winter and new years but they will just have to be a surprise for later…
